The project focuses on climate literacy (CL) as a key determinant in an individual’s pro-environmental behaviour (PEB). A climate-literate person can acquire, understand, and use information about climate change, enabling them to make appropriate environmental decisions. Research indicates that climate literacy is essential for PEB; however, the levels of climate literacy and its impact on the PEB of young people in Slovenia and worldwide are under-researched. The project examines the levels of CL and PEB among young people, comparing the effects of CL with other PEB determinants. Additionally, the project analyses curricula and educational materials related to CL. The aim of the project is to fill research gaps and develop strategies to enhance PEB by strengthening CL, which will have significant scientific impact at both national and international level.
Project (V5-2374) is funded by the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS) and the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy of the Republic of Slovenia.
